Sometimes you may fill out a metadata form for one set of data, and then need to fill out another form for a new set of data.  If these forms share some information, you can use the prepopulate tool.  The prepopulate tool will fill in much of the information that you entered in the original form.  You can then make the necessary changes (which take less time than filling out a whole form) and click submit.

How to Use the Prepopulate Tool:

Once you've fill out your first metadata form, it will appear in the database of all RMBL metadata.  You can browse the non-spatial, the research site, or research project metadata forms to located your form (remember which form you used).  Once you locate your metadata form, click the prepopulate tool, and nearly everything you previously entered will fill in.  Simply enter the new GPS filenames or any other information that may have changed, and click submit.
